One reckless night with her step-cousin is all it takes. Emilia has built her life carefully, and the moment that night reaches her sister it stops being hers: the sister turns it into leverage, and Caught Between Sisters is the story of what she does with it. Desire pulls Emilia toward the man in the middle, blackmail closes in from the other side, and she has to decide what she can afford to lose and who she is prepared to betray. Fifteen episodes, and the first two are free on Candy AI.

The story

Everything plays out around a family lake house, with Emilia, her sister, the step-cousin and the parents under one roof, which is what gives the blackmail its teeth: the person holding the secret sits at the same table. The sister is not out to hurt Emilia so much as to win, and she is prepared to burn the whole house down to do it. The step-cousin is the prize and the problem at once. Unlike most of the catalogue, this series has a plot problem rather than a premise: the leverage has to be spent or defused, and the fifteen episodes are paced around that rather than around escalation. It is the nearest thing Candy Shorts has to a thriller.

15 episodes, and the first two are free

Caught Between Sisters runs fifteen episodes of one to two minutes, which makes it one of the longest series on Candy Shorts: 99 of the 110 series stop at five, and only four reach fifteen. Episodes 1 and 2 are free with a Candy AI account, full episodes rather than trailers, and we timed them at 67 seconds each. Episodes 3 to 15 are included in a Candy AI subscription, from $3.99 a month on the annual plan, and the series picks up where you stopped. Episodes 6 to 15 carry the New label on candy.ai, so the run has grown from five since launch, and it is filed under Taboo.

How far it goes

We rate it 4 out of 5, very explicit, with a caveat about where the heat sits. The two free episodes are the opening of the story, not its payoff: the setup at the lake house, not the fallout. Candy AI does not file the series under its Spicy filter, and it does not file any other series we cover there either; on the platform, Spicy holds seven series that need an account before their card even opens, and nothing else is graded. So judge Caught Between Sisters from episodes 1 and 2 for its tone and its cast, and take the rating as our word for what the paid episodes add. They are the reason the series runs to fifteen.

Our take

The closest thing the catalogue has to a thriller. Fifteen episodes with an actual plot problem driving them, which puts it a tier above the series that simply escalate.

How to find it

In the Shorts grid on candy.ai it is listed by title, under the Taboo tag; the grid loads twenty cards at a time, so keep scrolling. Its address is another matter: the URL uses the lead character's name, Emilia Vermont, and the title-based address returns a 404. A link that looks unrelated to the title is not a mistake, and the button above takes you straight there.

The first two episodes are free with a Candy AI account. The remaining 13 need a Candy AI subscription, from $3.99 a month on the annual plan. The free access page has every plan.
